Overview
Steve Mould is a British science presenter with a physics degree from Oxford whose videos are built around a physical demonstration: a chain that leaps out of its beaker, a fluid that climbs a rod, a mechanism that should not work and does. The self-siphoning bead chain he popularised is now called the Mould effect in the literature. He explains the phenomenon on camera, usually by first offering the explanation most people would give and then showing why it is wrong. He has worked for years with Matt Parker, including in the live show Festival of the Spoken Nerd.
Notes
The channel does on a tabletop what Veritasium does with a crew: the wrong model first, then the surprise, then the right one. Mould is unusually honest about the limits of his own explanations, and several videos end with the admission that the published account is incomplete, which is more science than most science television contains. British, dry, and short.
