Don Norman
Notes
Don Norman (born 1935), American cognitive scientist and design theorist, co-founder of the Nielsen Norman Group and the person who gave the phrase "user experience" its job title at Apple. The Design of Everyday Things made the case that when people cannot work a door, a tap or a cooker, the fault lies with the designer, and gave the world the term "Norman door". His broader point, that human error is usually a system that invited it, is one I apply well outside design.
