John Eastman
Notes
John Eastman (born 1960), American law professor and former dean who wrote the memoranda arguing that Mike Pence could reject or return the electoral votes of contested states on 6 January 2021, and spoke at the rally that morning. He conceded to Pence's counsel that the theory would lose at the Supreme Court nine to nothing. A federal judge found it "more likely than not" that he and Donald Trump had committed crimes in pursuing it, he was disbarred in California in 2024, and he was indicted in Georgia and Arizona. He appears in The 2020 US Election Steal and January 6 as the author of the legal theory behind the fake electors.
