Overview
A Milwaukee film-review channel run by Mike Stoklasa, Jay Bauman, and Rich Evans. Its regular series are Half in the Bag, in which Mike and Jay review current releases in the framing device of a VCR repair business; Best of the Worst, in which the crew watch three terrible films and vote on the best; and re:View, a longer discussion of a single older film. The channel became known for Stoklasa's feature-length Mr Plinkett reviews of the Star Wars prequels, which are delivered in the character of a deranged serial killer and are among the most thorough pieces of film criticism on the platform.
Notes
Film criticism by people who have made films and know how they are put together, which is rarer than it sounds. The Plinkett reviews are a case study in sustained argument: each point about the prequels is made, illustrated with footage, and tested against a counter-example, and the comic framing never gets in the way of the case. Best of the Worst is the most consistently funny thing on YouTube and Rich Evans has the best laugh in recorded media.
