Christopher Hitchens (1949–2011), Anglo-American journalist, polemicist and one of the "Four Horsemen" of New Atheism. God Is Not Great is the case against religion as a moral institution; his debates with William Lane Craig, Dinesh D'Souza and the Catholic Church are the best entertainment in the genre. "What can be asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence" is his, and I use it constantly.
