Cornelius Van Til
Notes
Cornelius Van Til (1895–1987), Dutch-American Reformed theologian at Westminster Theological Seminary, founder of presuppositional apologetics. Held that there is no neutral ground from which to argue for or against God, that all reasoning presupposes the Christian God, and that the unbeliever's use of logic is therefore a kind of borrowing. The Transcendental Argument is the formal expression of this.
