Overview
Devin Stone is an American litigator whose channel began with Real Lawyer Reacts, in which he grades the legal accuracy of films and television and counts the laws broken, and has grown into a running explainer of American legal news: indictments, Supreme Court rulings, constitutional questions, and the lawsuits of the day. The videos set out what the law actually says, what the court actually decided, and where the reporting has got it wrong. He has also gone to court himself, including as lead plaintiff in a 2024 class action over the Honey browser extension.
Notes
A qualified person explaining his own field, which remains the rarest thing on the platform. Stone's videos are the fastest honest route I know into the American legal background behind positions such as the 2nd amendment and the US end of Free Speech, and he is careful to separate what he thinks the law should be from what it is. The reaction format is lighter than it looks: the breach-of-procedure count is a lesson in what courts are for. On my "might be based" list, for the reasons given in People who be and be not based; the channel is recommended regardless.
