RFK Jr. is Dangerously Stupid

Overview

A near-two-hour 2025 video by Dave Farina on Robert F. Kennedy Jr., made after Kennedy's confirmation as US Secretary of Health and Human Services in February 2025. It works through his record claim by claim: the vaccine-autism assertions, the thiomersal campaign, the Samoa measles outbreak of 2019, the claims about HIV, Wi-Fi, fluoride and chemicals "turning the frogs gay", the raw-milk enthusiasm, and the pattern of citing studies that say the opposite of what he says they say.

Notes

  • The length is the point. Kennedy's method is the Gish gallop: a stream of confident, specific-sounding claims that each take twenty minutes to unpick. Farina unpicks them, which almost nobody with a platform has bothered to do, and the video is valuable as a reference for that reason.
  • The title is accurate but unhelpful. Kennedy is not stupid; he is a lawyer who has found that the vaccine-injury narrative is a business and a constituency, and he argues like a lawyer, for a verdict rather than for the truth. "Dangerously dishonest" would be closer, and it would make the same video persuasive to more people. See the reservations in Dave Farina.
  • The substance connects directly to Anti-Vaccine: Kennedy is the Andrew Wakefield story's second act, in which the fraud becomes policy. That a man who believes these things runs American public health is the strongest argument I know for keeping science out of the gift of elected officials.
