John Locke
Notes
John Locke (1632–1704), English empiricist and political philosopher. Argued that the mind begins as a blank slate, that government rests on consent and exists to protect life, liberty and property, and that property arises from mixing one's labour with the world, which is where the labour theory of value starts. Also gave the standard formulation of the Ship of Theseus problem for personal identity.
