Overview
Ryan George is a Canadian comedian best known for Pitch Meetings, in which a screenwriter pitches a real film to a studio producer, both played by George, and the plot holes, conveniences, and studio compromises are exposed in the telling: "super easy, barely an inconvenience". The series began on Screen Rant's channel in 2017 and the format has since continued under George's own name. His own channel also carries original sketches, including the First Guy series, in which the first person ever to encounter something has to explain it to someone who has not.
Notes
Film criticism in disguise. A Pitch Meeting is a plot summary in which every unjustified step is said aloud, and the method, make the implicit explicit and see whether it survives, is the same one I would use on an argument. Pairs with RedLetterMedia, which does the long version. The sketches are the better comedy; the Pitch Meetings are the better teaching.
