Nick Bostrom (born 1973), Swedish philosopher formerly of Oxford's Future of Humanity Institute. Author of the Simulation hypothesis argument, the Paperclip Maximizer thought experiment, and Superintelligence. Interesting arguments, though I think the simulation one proves less than it appears to.
