Ian Stevenson
Notes
Ian Stevenson (1918–2007) was a Canadian-American psychiatrist at the University of Virginia who spent forty years collecting some 2,500 "cases suggestive of reincarnation", mostly children in India, Sri Lanka, Lebanon and Burma who claimed memories of a previous life. Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation (1966) is the best-known collection. He was careful not to claim proof, and the cases cluster in cultures that already believe, were usually recorded after the families had met, and have no controls. He appears here as the source of the argument from past-life memories.
