Richard Rorty
Notes
Richard Rorty (1931–2007), American pragmatist philosopher. Argued in Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature (1979) that the idea of knowledge as accurate representation of reality should be abandoned in favour of what works, and in Contingency, Irony, and Solidarity (1989) that moral progress is a matter of expanding the circle of "us" rather than discovering moral facts. I take the second point and leave most of the first.
