Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk (1851–1914), Austrian economist and three times finance minister of Austria-Hungary. Karl Marx and the Close of His System (1896) is the classic critique of the labour theory of value, arguing that the third volume of Capital contradicts the first on the relation between labour values and prices (the "transformation problem"). Marxist economists have been answering him for over a century.
