Overview

A PBS Digital Studios physics channel, running since 2015 and presented since 2016 by Matt O'Dowd, an astrophysicist at Lehman College of the City University of New York. Episodes take one topic in cosmology, relativity, quantum field theory, or black hole physics and work through it with the actual equations on screen, often in multi-part sequences that assume the viewer has watched the previous ones. Each episode ends with answers to the previous episode's comments, including the ones that caught an error.

Notes

The channel that refuses to dumb down, and is watched by millions anyway, which says something about the audience that the rest of the platform underestimates. It is the best preparation for the cosmological material in apologetics: anyone who has followed the episodes on what "before the Big Bang" can and cannot mean will not be moved by the Kalam Cosmological Argument in its usual form. Pairs with Sean Carroll (YouTube), whose Biggest Ideas lectures go deeper and slower.
