William H. McRaven

Notes

William H. McRaven (born 1955), retired United States Navy admiral, former commander of US Special Operations Command and the officer who oversaw the raid that killed Osama bin Laden. His 2014 commencement address at the University of Texas, ten lessons from SEAL training beginning with "make your bed", became the short book Make Your Bed. He is in this vault for that book alone, and for being a rare example of advice from a military career that does not depend on the reader having had one.
