Luis Elizondo (born 1972), former Pentagon counter-intelligence official who in 2017 resigned, presented himself as the director of the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, and became the public face of the modern UFO revival through the New York Times story, the To the Stars Academy and a History Channel series. The Pentagon has disputed what his role in the programme was. His 2024 memoir and testimony describe crash-retrieval programmes he says he was briefed on but cannot document. He appears in UFOs and UAP as the most effective publicist the subject has had, which is a different thing from a witness.
