Overview

Sean Carroll is a theoretical physicist and philosopher at Johns Hopkins, and his channel carries his Mindscape podcast, in which he interviews scientists, philosophers, and writers across every field, and his Biggest Ideas in the Universe series, a set of lectures that teach the real mathematics of physics, from classical mechanics to quantum field theory, to a general audience. He also posts debates and public lectures on cosmology, the arrow of time, and the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.

Notes

Carroll is the physicist I trust most on the questions where physics meets philosophy, because he does both and does not pretend one is the other. His debate with William Lane Craig on cosmology, in which he argued that "cause" is not a concept that appears in fundamental physics, is the background to my objections to the Kalam Cosmological Argument and the First Cause Argument. The Biggest Ideas lectures are the best free physics education available anywhere.
