Philip Goff
Notes
Philip Goff (born 1978), British philosopher at Durham and the most prominent public advocate of panpsychism, which he presents in Galileo's Error (2019) as the middle way between a physicalism that cannot explain experience and a dualism that cannot explain interaction. He is candid that the combination problem is unsolved, which I respect and which I think concedes the argument. More recently he has argued for a purposive universe and a limited god (Why? The Purpose of the Universe, 2023), which is where I think the position was always heading.
